One aspect of generative art that could be interesting to clarify is that it is often a double way process: the artist creates the algorithm, but the algorithm is general enough to provide designs not intended at the first place by the artist, those ones being most of the time the most interesting to select.
Thanks for the link. Noted, it's hard to really get an accurate count. There is also a blurry line of what is creative coding vs generative. What's significant is that plenty more talent will bubble to the surface in the next year which is what I am really looking forward to seeing!

Some interesting thought on the future. I think you might be a bit too conservative on the number of artists.
For events there is soon a nice exhibition in Zurich for Digital Art, also generative stuff. Last year was the first time, it was quite nice.
